NAI Wheeler has made a conscience effort to be involved with a single charity that we felt was worthy of our efforts and dollars. We researched many charities but ultimately decided upon the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

In choosing the Fallen Heroes Fund we first looked at our interest and then we looked at the integrity and financial responsibility of the charity. In doing this research we found the American Institute of Philanthropy. The AIP web site offers third party research on charitable organizations. The AIP rated the Fallen Heroes fund an A . This high rating played a significant part in our process of choosing a charity.

Other factors included Lee Wheeler’s 10 years of service in the United States Marine Corps. Lee lost many friends during his time in the Corps and felt the Fallen Heroes Fund was a fantastic fit for NAI Wheeler.

NAI Wheeler will be donating a percentage of every commission they receive to the Fallen Heroes Fund.

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is a leader in supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. Begun in 2000 under the auspices of the Intrepid Museum Foundation, and established as an independent not-for-profit organization in 2003, the Fund has provided close to $60 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans. These efforts are funded entirely with donations from the public, and hundreds of thousands of individuals have contributed to the Fund. 100% of contributions raised by the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund go towards these programs; all administrative expenses are underwritten by the Fund’s Trustees.

NAI Wheeler plans on committing a percentage of all commissions they make, to the Fallen Heroes Fund to be a lifelong commitment and not just something that will be done over a short period of time. “It is something we are wholeheartedly committed to as an organization.”
